Karen manages Boal & Co’s international corporate pension client portfolio as well as overseeing business operations and the group marketing function. She has more than 20 years’ experience managing retirement benefits schemes.


Ben Hughes

Ben Hughes | Head of Pensions | Keystone Law (Isle of Man)

Having qualified in London as a pensions specialist, Ben has advised on all aspects of Isle of Man pensions law for the last 20 years. His practice covers the majority of domestic and international schemes in the Isle of Man.


Andrew Kniveton

Andrew Kniveton | Head of Policy and Risk | Isle of Man FSA

Andrew has been involved in a wide range of regulatory policy initiatives and has supported the risk management & information governance frameworks. He has responsibility for the Authority’s regulatory policy, enterprise risk management framework & information governance compliance.


Andrew Pugh

Andrew Pugh | Actuarial Consultant | Mercer

Andrew is a Scheme Actuary and Risk transfer broker and Consultant. With a focus on broking bulk annuity transactions for DB schemes, the subsequent implementation of buy-ins and buy-outs, together with scheme wind ups, Andrew specialises in advising IOM DB occupational pension schemes.


Michael Ardill

Michael helps trustees, corporates and DC pension providers to make robust and informed investment decisions and secure the best outcomes for DC members.


Meg Facey

Meg Facey | Associate Investment Consultant | Hymans Robertson

Meg supports several public and private clients, covering primarily DB pension schemes, with assets under consultancy ranging between £50m and £4bn. 


John Batty

John Batty | Technical Manager | Boal & Co

John has wide ranging pensions knowledge. He is involved with Boal's GPP, SIPP, SSAS and master-trust pension products for the IOM market as well as QROPS, QNUPS and IPP solutions for individuals internationally. With 30 years' experience, he has worked in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.


Nicola Skillicorn

Nicola Skillicorn | Deputy Assessor of Income Tax | Isle of Man Income Tax Division

Nicola is responsible for the implementation of, and compliance with, international tax standards on tax transparency and profit shifting. This includes exchange of information on request (EOIR), all forms of automatic exchange of information (AEOI) including FATCA, CRS, CbCR and ETR, as well as the introduction of the substantial activities requirement (substance) for companies operating in certain geographically mobile sectors.


Steve Finan

Steve Finan | Senior International Compliance Officer | Isle of Man Income Tax Division

Steve oversees the Isle of Man Income Tax Division’s international compliance team, working with the Island’s varied finance sector in respect to compliance with FATCA and CRS.   


Simon Pickering

Simon Pickering | Head of Insurance and Pensions | Isle of Man Department for Enterprise

Simon heads up insurance and pensions within the Finance IOM agency at the Department for Enterprise; the promotional arm of the Isle of Man Government.  Having previously worked in the banking, insurance and financial advisory sectors, he brings a breadth of experience in the Island’s key financial services.


Keith Bull

Keith Bull | Head of Tax | Grant Thornton

Keith is responsible for delivering advice on the full range of tax issues impacting individuals and businesses on the Island. After gaining over 20 years’ experience in various roles in London, both in practice and in house, he moved to the Isle of Man earlier this year.


Simon Evans

Simon Evans | Senior Associate, Pensions | CMS

Simon is an English-qualified lawyer providing advice on contentious and non-contentious pensions matters. He advises several cross-border schemes connected to the IOM on winding up and buying-out, employer covenant, and best practice scheme governance.


Mark Doyle

Mark Doyle | Director | Boal & Co

Mark has overall responsibility for Boal & Co’s domestic (Isle of Man) personal pensions and the trusteeship of domestic corporate pensions (DB and DC). He is also a key technical/sales contact within the business for advisers, introducers and clients.
