Frequently asked questions.
No. A quality pension for employees doesn't have to be complicated or costly. Our schemes are designed to be straightforward to set up and run, with transparent charges and no unnecessary extras - so you can offer your employees a valuable benefit without it becoming a burden on the business. We're happy to talk through the options and what they'd mean for you.
A group personal pension (GPP) is a pension arranged by an employer, but made up of individual personal pension plans - one for each employee. Although you set it up for your team, each employee owns their own plan, which both you and they can pay into. Because the plans are personal, employees keep them even if they change jobs, and they're treated as personal pensions for tax purposes.
An occupational pension scheme is a pension arrangement set up and sponsored by an employer to provide retirement benefits for its employees. Contributions are typically made by the employer and, in many cases, the employee, helping individuals build long-term retirement savings. Occupational pension schemes can be structured in different ways, including defined contribution (DC) schemes, where retirement benefits depend on the level of contributions made and the performance of investments, and defined benefit (DB) schemes, where benefits are linked to factors such as salary and length of service. In the Isle of Man, occupational pension schemes are subject to regulatory and governance requirements. Employers and trustees must meet ongoing administration, oversight and compliance obligations to ensure the scheme is operated effectively and in the best interests of its members.
